T'Wolves Win Their First Game of the Season
The T'Wolves dominated against the young Sonics in their first game, Oct. 31st. Leading all scorers was the force in the middle for the T'Wolves, Al Jefferson. Jefferson is the biggest hope this team has of developing into a winning squad and so far he is off to a great start. Of the rest of the team, Jason Williams, Kirk Snyder, and Randy Foye performed best. Williams had 20 points and 7 assists. Foye had 17 points and Kirk Snyder had 19 points. Winning by 37, everyone on the team put up a solid scoring
effort.
New GM'S First Trade
The new GM made a quick splash by immediately accepting his first trade. Whether or not the trade goes through or not remains to be seen, but so far it looks good. The trade will send the young PF Ryan Gomes to the Louisville Stallions for Jamaal Magloire, Brent Barry, and Bruce Bowen. The T'Wolves are taking on salary in order to acquire depth here. They only have 11 players, and this trade will bring them to 13. Also, it will allow them to sit the ever ineffective Mark Madsen in the IR. (Sorry Mark) However, more importantly, it lets the squad move team leader Al Jefferson to his more natural position of PF as Magloire will now start at center. Craig Smith will now back up at PF, instead of start which will help take some pressure off of him. But at SF it looks as if we may have a battle over who will start. Bruce Bowen makes his case defensively, and Snyder makes his on the offensive end. Also, whether Barry starts or sits remains to be seen. Foye is probably a better choice at SG and Williams can continue to hold down the starting PG position. The Wolves may be giving up some youth here, but they are becoming a better team now.
